Bodegas Nekeas El Chaparral de Vega Sindoa Old Vines Garnacha 2019

El Chaparral is made from a patchwork of old, dry-farmed, goblet-trained Garnacha vines, some over 100 years old, planted in the Valley of Valdizarbe—one of Navarra’s most historic viticultural areas.  These old clones are harvested very late in the season due to their long vegetative cycle, and the wine is aged for seven months in second-use French oak, preserving the purity of fruit and the unique Atlantic influence of the site.  Scarcity is a defining feature: the combination of ancient vines and sustainable, low-intervention viticulture means production is naturally limited, making this a sought-after example of traditional Navarra Garnacha.

Expression of the most Atlantic Garnacha in Spain. Vivid garnet color. Juicy and spicy on the palate with red fruit and black and white pepper flavors.  Accents of coffee and minerality.  Elegant, fine, and delicate, but supported by firm tannins.
