Stony Brook The “J” 2019

The "J" 2015

About The Wine

The ‘J’ is a wonderfully complex blend of 36% Viognier, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 18% Chenin Blanc and 11% Semillon from a combination of vineyards in Franschhoek and Walker Bay. I’m always looking to create a wine focused on texture more than anything when dealing with these varieties. The Viognier and Semillon are grown on the estate, both of which contribute loads of stone fruit, richness and structure to the blend. The Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, both grown in Walker Bay, are the more ‘fresh’ components, bringing brightness and acidity to the wine. All four of the varieties were whole-bunch pressed and fermented in a combination of 30% second-fill barrels and 70% stainless steel and matured for for 12 months before bottling.

Serving Suggestions

A wonderful wine to serve with Thai food, or any dish that contains ginger and a touch of chili.
