Christophe Grandmougin & Fils is a family-owned winery, also known as Domaine Saint-Jacques, located in the village of Rully in the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy. The Domaine spans nearly 10 hectares, primarily in the Rully appellation, and uses sustainable agriculture practices. The average age of their vines is 40 years.
The Domaine Saint-Jacques Rully Blanc 2022 is an elegant, balanced, and fruit-forward Chardonnay with notable minerality.
The bouquet is highly expressive, with prominent notes of citrus, particularly grapefruit, and white-fleshed fruits. Subtle hints of quality oak aging may introduce light nuances of baked goods, butter, seashells, or delicate grilled notes.
On the palate, the wine is described as having a fine, silky texture ("fat") balanced by good, lively acidity. It exhibits a beautiful tension that carries through to the finish, alternating between roundness and freshness.
