About the Wine
The Chenin Blanc is a wooded, dry wine that shows a complex nose of lightly toasted vanilla oak and ripe fruit flavours of yellow apple and gooseberries. Stone fruit is more present on the pallet with a good balance of peach and apricot flavours. This medium to full-bodied wine shows a great balance of oak and fruit and leaves you with a well-rounded lingering aftertaste.

Winemaker's Notes
The Back of Paarl is a well-known area for the production of top quality Chenin Blanc. The warm summers and cool afternoon breezes are ideal for Chenin Blanc.
The Windmeul Chenin Blanc Reserve comes from a low-yielding bush vine block that was planted in 1974 (51 Years old). The soil is deep decomposed Malmesbury shale that has good water-retention properties and provides a good buffer against the hot summers.
The first half of the wines fermentation takes place in a stainless-steel tank and from there the wine is transferred to 500L French oak barrels to finish the fermentation. The Chenin Blanc matures for 12 months in barrel before bottling.
